Wheelchair users issues

Reported via mobile by Malcolm Macmillan at 08:59, Wednesday 5 August 2026

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 977287.

The pavements from Hilltop to the bus stop in front of Westhill Primary School are dangerous for independently travelling wheelchair users. Going downhill it is like “off-roading” with severely damaged surfaces. I have, on numerous occasions nearly ended up on the road due to uneven terrain. This area in particular has such a difficult crossing that I have to get out of my wheelchair, push past it then sit for a while to recover before continuing. I know for a fact that this, and the whole area has been on the reserve list for years. If I am not able navigate this horrendous route, I will be totally reliant on being fit enough to get my wheelchair into my car and then driving to a safe place in my own community to get out.
