Report of degrading pavement, unsightly weeds, water ingress
Reported via mobile in the Surface Issue category anonymously at 13:36, Saturday 11 July 2026
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 974179.
I am reporting the poor condition of the pavement outside my property.
The pavement surface has deteriorated significantly and is uneven, with numerous weeds growing through the cracks. The damaged surface is allowing rainwater to collect and drain towards my property rather than away from it.
As a result, I am experiencing water ingress into my ground-floor bedroom, which I believe is being caused or made worse by the condition of the pavement outside. This is causing damage and is a matter of concern.
I have taken photographs showing:
The degraded condition of the pavement. The weed growth through the surface. The areas where water collects. The resulting water ingress affecting my property. This is something I have reported continuously for around three years and is well documented
I would be grateful if the pavement could be inspected as soon as possible and any necessary repairs carried out. Please let me know when an inspection is likely to take place and whether you require copies of the photographs or any further information.
Thank you for your attention to this matter

We’re currently developing our approach to displaying priorities and target completion times to keep residents better informed. In the meantime, we’ll continue to assess the level of risk and allocate resources based on urgency, location, and the availability of repair teams.
This defect has been added to our works programme and will be scheduled accordingly.
- To be Completed by: TBC
- Road category: 4A
- Road speed limit: 60
The date shown above represents the latest target for completion based on our current programme of works. This may be brought forward where resources, operational priorities, or coordination with other activities allow. Defects assessed as posing a higher risk are prioritised for earlier repair whenever possible.
Thank you for your patience while we carry out this work.
