Req for action on weed overgrowth across the estate
Reported via mobile in the Roadside Weeds category anonymously at 19:57, Friday 10 July 2026
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 974144.
I am writing to raise concerns about the ongoing issue of excessive weed growth throughout the estate which Redinch Circle, Newburgh along with other roads/streets form part of the estate. The weeds have become increasingly overgrown along pavements, kerb edges & shared green spaces, which is affecting both the appearance of extra & ease of movement for residents.
I am aware that you may have kept the grass longer on purpose for bugs to breed. However, the herb edges, property boarders, drains & greenspaces in some areas have been sprayed making the weeds dead & in other places the weeds are thriving & are now very overgrown.
I travel all over Aberdeen & the shire & I have yet to come across an estate that looks more shabbier.
I would appreciate it if the council could arrange fir ground’s maintenance to be carried out & confirm when weed clearing is scheduled to take place. Regular upkeep is essential to ensure the estate remains safe, tidy & well maintained.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
Kind regards
Lesley Gill - 6 Redinch Circle
