Terrible road resurfacing work on this stretch of road. Loose chippings, unset tar, dangerous surface for driving but more so for cyclists.

I ended up cycling along this stretch of road as they were doing road works. The road was open and there was no warning to suggest that it would not be suitable for cyclists or indeed the distance of the resurfaced road.
The road was not in a good condition and dangerous to cyclists. Loose piles of chippings had piled up due to cars driving over the road and these piles made cycling extremely dangerous. The passing cars were also throwing up loose stones and hitting me all over my body and bike.
The tar was not set. It covered my tires and this meant my tires were then covered in loose stones. I lost all grip and the tires are essentially ruined. I then had to get off the bike and walk. This then ruined my cycling shoes. The loose chippings damaged the frame and moving components.
I understand that roads require resurfacing but I do not believe this was done properly or at least to the point where it would be suitable for vehicles. The chippings had not been pressed into the tar properly or swept away. The tar was not properly set.
The upshot of all of this is a damaged bike. It could have been a lot worse as that road was no condition for cycling. Fair enough some may say...but at least have some warnings to allow cyclists to find alternative routes.
I would like compensation for the damage done to my bike.
