State of roads in Stonehaven

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 968790.

Hi, I wish to complain about the disgraceful state of the roads within Stonehaven. Have tried, as have many others, reporting faults on online map - but to no avail.

There are now too many to identify.

I appreciate that Stonehaven is well south and away from the centre of your world - Inverurie, but we are still part of Aberdeenshire and should get same level of repairs as further north.

If some of the potholes are allowed to extend there is going to an incident and Aberdeenshire council may (will) be faced with expensive repair bills, not only to roads but also the irate motorist who will be knocking on your door with a big bill clutched in their hand.

Come on guys, repairs now whilst the weather is relatively good .

  • We’ve completed our inspection and were unable to log a defect requiring action by the Roads Service.

    In many cases, this means the issue may relate to land or infrastructure that is not maintained by our service. This could include areas looked after by another part of the Council — such as housing, landscape, or waste services — or by a third party, such as a utility provider, housing association, developer, or private landowner.

    If the situation changes, or if you’re able to provide additional information, you’re welcome to get back in touch. However, if the issue continues to fall outside the Roads Service’s responsibility, it will remain with the appropriate service or owner to address.
