Ironworks - URGENT
Reported via desktop in the Request for Advice or Information category anonymously at 13:58, Thursday 14 May 2026
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 965707.
Despite phoning and requesting a call back regarding this issue on at least three occasions, none have been forthcoming.
Please as a matter of urgency, delay these works until such time as a reasonable solution is found regarding access to the development. There are over 90 houses on this estate. Residents have only been given a week's notice about this. People cannot simply just not turn up to work etc. There are also residents with urgent hospital appointments which, if cancelled, could delay urgent treatment. There are no local amenities and the nearest shops are 4 miles away. Surely, we cannot be expected just to not leave our properties for at least three days.
One solution would be to stagger the works so they are done one at a time. While this may be inconvenient to Scottish Water and the contracted company, this is nothing compared to the massive impact which will be felt by over 90 houses. There is nowhere suitable to leave vehicles in the village as the roads are narrow and are almost at capacity in any event.
Please delay these works as a matter of urgency. This matter has also been referred to Andrew Bowie MP and Alexander Burnett MSP.
