Road markings worn away at junction
Reported via desktop in the Road Markings category anonymously at 23:03, Thursday 7 May 2026
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 964841.
The road markings at the junction of the High Street and Main Street in Turriff have worn away making it difficult to understand priority. In addition, there is no highway signage indicating the layout of the junction. This caused me to have a near miss with another vehicle when I was travelling from the High Street to Balmellie street as I was unable to correctly understand the junction layout.

We have an update - we’ve completed our assessment of the defect logged with us and evaluated the risk it poses.
This risk level determines our target response time which are then are used to prioritise and programme work.
At this stage, other defects posing a higher risk are taking priority and we are not planning to carry out any repair work here at this time. The defect location has been recorded and will be assessed again during the next planned inspection for any further deterioration.
State changed to: No further action
