Gap between kerb and speed bump on Seaforth Street outside Fraserburgh South Church

Reported via mobile in the Surface Issue category anonymously at 22:42, Tuesday 5 May 2026

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 964445.

An elderly friend fell on Sunday after stumbling down the gap between the kerb and the speed bump on the road outside the Church. She is the fourth elderly person we know who has fallen in exactly the same place. She has sustained some injuries and did require medical attention, although thankfully not seriously injured. The gap is a real trip hazard, and the location is right outside the church which many elderly residents attend. The lady in question believes this has previously been reported when others have been injured, but no action has been taken.

Thanks again for taking the time to get in touch with us.

  • We’ve completed our inspection and were unable to log a defect requiring action by the Roads Service.

In many cases, this means the issue may relate to land or infrastructure that is not maintained by our service. This could include areas looked after by another part of the Council — such as housing, landscape, or waste services — or by a third party, such as a utility provider, housing association, developer, or private landowner.

If the situation changes, or if you’re able to provide additional information, you’re welcome to get back in touch. However, if the issue continues to fall outside the Roads Service’s responsibility, it will remain with the appropriate service or owner to address.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention
