Roadside Mess
Reported via desktop in the Verge Damage category anonymously at 11:23, Friday 1 May 2026
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 964080.
It has now been 7 years since the flooding at King Edward and much has been done to restore our bridges which is very much appreciated given the financial pressures at this time. I wonder if we could request a small ‘’ tidy up job” near the old school and old school house at Fisherie. There’s is a very small burn there where the wall / parapet was washed away. The bridge itself was stabilised but cones and barriers have been in place for almost 7 years. Would it be possible to remove them and replace them with two or three stone ( Lego type )blocks? This would provide a sufficient barrier for safety purposes and look so much tidier. My husband and a neighbour have been cutting the grass which grows through the cones and around them all this time. We have also replaced the barrier and cones repeatedly following high winds. This could be a quick solution which would really improve the look of the area and be a safer solution for motorists, especially in high winds. Since the cones and barriers were placed there by the council, we felt it was only polite to make the request to the roads department. We would really appreciate your support with this. Thank you for taking the time to read our concerns and request.
