Verge/wall issue

Reported via desktop in the Verge Damage category anonymously at 16:18, Tuesday 24 March 2026

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 958937.

The public road passing may property has, in past years, been built up against my boundary wall. Between the tarred roadway and the wall there is a narrow soft verge (photo 1). On the other side of the wall there is a drop of around 1.5 - 2m into the forecourt of an old shed building (photo 2). The issue is that with the increasing size of farm and other vehicles attempting to pass each other heavy farm vehicles are mounting the verge close to the wall. This is clearly a danger. Some years ago (2017 I think) you put up a series of warning markers in an attempt to keep vehicles off the verge. It is clear that at least one of these has been removed at the critical point (photo 1) by persons unknown and vehicles are again mounting the verge to pass each other (photo 3 showing recent vehicle tracks). This is despite the fact that there is a passing place a few metres down the road. The reality is that this needs something a more substantial to deter heavy vehicles mounting the verge at this point.
