Footpath blocked
Reported via mobile in the Overgrown Vegetation from Private Property category anonymously at 15:22, Wednesday 11 March 2026
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 957068.
The hedge along the footpath has become significantly overgrown and now blocks much of the walkway. It extends out into the path so far that it is difficult to pass without stepping into the road. This makes it especially challenging for people with prams, wheelchairs, or mobility aids, as there is not enough clear space to get through safely. The hedge needs to be trimmed back to restore full access to the footpath and ensure it is safe and usable for everyone.

We’ve completed our inspection and identified that the issue relates to an obstruction or defect for which a private party is responsible, under the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984.
The Roads Authority is taking appropriate action to resolve the matter. This may include requiring the responsible individual or organisation to carry out remedial work within a specified timescale.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation and take further steps if necessary to ensure compliance.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
