My property foundation full of water.

Reported via mobile in the Water Flowing on to the Road category anonymously at 09:12, Wednesday 18 February 2026

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 953428.

I reported this problem weeks ago, workers arrived and dug hole. Next day hole was tarred and water still flows continuously resulting in my foundation full of water. Spoke to workers and they could not find the problem. It would help if gully (corner of Hope St/ Hay Crescent) was taking away water but it ain't. It been a month now and dampness creating up my walls in my property........raging. Doug Walllace.

  • This is where the water is coming from. Its travelling underneath my garden wall and down Hope Street to a gully on Hay Xres (directly across from entrance to Morrisons Supermarket. NOTE!!!! This gully is checked on a regular basis and does not cope with volume if water coming down Hope Street. On doing some homework........original drainage was ripped out and always been a problem since Morrisons was built. Information from a site digger driver from back then!!

  • We’ve completed our inspection and were unable to log a defect requiring action by the Roads Service.

In many cases, this means the issue may relate to land or infrastructure that is not maintained by our service. This could include areas looked after by another part of the Council — such as housing, landscape, or waste services — or by a third party, such as a utility provider, housing association, developer, or private landowner.

If the situation changes, or if you’re able to provide additional information, you’re welcome to get back in touch. However, if the issue continues to fall outside the Roads Service’s responsibility, it will remain with the appropriate service or owner to address.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention
