Snow plough and gritting

Reported via desktop in the Surface Issue category anonymously at 12:12, Saturday 10 January 2026

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 943359.

Why have you closed the previous reported problem with the road? The road still needs a snow plough and gritting. The gritter has not been through, cars can are just about managing to get through but it is touch and go whether they make it. I know main roads need first priority but it's now over 1 week since the road was passable and as I understand it the main roads are now clear. Please don't close reported problems until the problem has actually been resolved. A email saying snow can drift and major roads take priority is not a solution to the reported problem.

  • We’ve completed our inspection and were unable to log a defect requiring action by the Roads Service.

In many cases, this means the issue may relate to land or infrastructure that is not maintained by our service. This could include areas looked after by another part of the Council — such as housing, landscape, or waste services — or by a third party, such as a utility provider, housing association, developer, or private landowner.

If the situation changes, or if you’re able to provide additional information, you’re welcome to get back in touch. However, if the issue continues to fall outside the Roads Service’s responsibility, it will remain with the appropriate service or owner to address.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention
