3 street lights cut down on Victoria Terrace, corner at car park
Reported via desktop in the Street Light category anonymously at 20:28, Tuesday 4 November 2025
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 931566.
3 of the lights on this street have been cut down by the council, with no explanation. This means that the area is extremely dark for any pedestrian walking by. The section of the street is right on the corner by the woods and across from a car park. It feels extremely unsafe to walk by at night, and with the days getting shorter by the time any member of my family comes out the area is completely dark. Sometimes individuals we know must park in the car park and they have also mentioned feeling unsafe getting to their car now that it is dark. Furthermore, with it being pitch black there is the fear that a car comes swinging into the car park without seeing a pedestrian and this causes an accident. On top of this we are coming into winter, meaning the roads and pavements will get icy and therefore slippery. The lack of light makes it impossible to see any potential hazards on the ground. It is ridiculous that this area has been left like this for so long.
