Very slippy skidy road surface when it rains
Reported via desktop in the Surface Issue category anonymously at 16:00, Wed 3 September 2025
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 923779.
The road surface in this roundabout becomes very slippy when it rains, when turning to take a third exit in any directing the vehicle skids / slips on the road surface. The worst direction where skidding occurs is when coming from Aberdeen and turning into Westhill the vehicle slides / skids out of control when turning. This happens every time its raining, as can be seen with the damaged pedestrian barriers. It has been reported numerous times but no action has been taken to resolve the issue.

We’ve completed our inspection and were unable to log a defect requiring action by the Roads Service.
In many cases, this means the issue may relate to land or infrastructure that is not maintained by our service. This could include areas looked after by another part of the Council — such as housing, landscape, or waste services — or by a third party, such as a utility provider, housing association, developer, or private landowner.
If the situation changes, or if you’re able to provide additional information, you’re welcome to get back in touch. However, if the issue continues to fall outside the Roads Service’s responsibility, it will remain with the appropriate service or owner to address.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention
