Over grown trees/bushes

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown Vegetation from Private Property category anonymously at 13:42, Wed 3 September 2025

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 923732.

The road is no longer passable for two cars at the same time without scratching the side of the car due to the amount of the trees are over hanging. There is a road sign for “Kirktown of St Fergus” which is no longer visible as it has been consumed by the foliage.

Updates

  • We’ve had a look at the issue and have now passed your enquiry to our local Roads Team for assessment. They’ll determine what action is needed and we’ll update you once that assessment has taken place.

Thanks again for taking the time to get in touch with us.

In the meantime, you can find out more information on a range of topics on our website at www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/roads.

  • We’ve completed our inspection and were unable to log a defect requiring action by the Roads Service.

In many cases, this means the issue may relate to land or infrastructure that is not maintained by our service. This could include areas looked after by another part of the Council — such as housing, landscape, or waste services — or by a third party, such as a utility provider, housing association, developer, or private landowner.

If the situation changes, or if you’re able to provide additional information, you’re welcome to get back in touch. However, if the issue continues to fall outside the Roads Service’s responsibility, it will remain with the appropriate service or owner to address.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention
