Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 920981.
Hello. This iron cover directly outside the door to 5 Quayside, Banff, AB45 1HQ is loose. Whenever a car drives over it it shifts and bangs which sends an excessiy loud bang through the several houses adjacent. I am reporting on behalf of me and my neighbours. It's constant banging is casing issues with our sleep. It may just need lifted and the recess cleaned but we would very much appreciate it being looked at. Many thanks.

Thank you for your report. We’ve arranged for an inspection to take place so we can confirm who is responsible for the issue you’ve raised.
This may involve checking whether the defect relates to the public road network or to infrastructure maintained by a utility company or other private party.
We’ll update you once the inspection is complete and we know how the matter will be progressed.

We’ve completed our inspection and were unable to log a defect requiring action by the Roads Service.
In many cases, this means the issue may relate to land or infrastructure that is not maintained by our service. This could include areas looked after by another part of the Council — such as housing, landscape, or waste services — or by a third party, such as a utility provider, housing association, developer, or private landowner.
If the situation changes, or if you’re able to provide additional information, you’re welcome to get back in touch. However, if the issue continues to fall outside the Roads Service’s responsibility, it will remain with the appropriate service or owner to address.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention
