Plan for a new 20 mph sign
Reported via mobile in the Signs & Bollards category anonymously at 19:13, Mon 11 August 2025
Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 920508.
The marked area on the road for the new sign is adjacent to my house and will block the existing view i enjoy every evening and will also prevent my solar panels i use from getting charged when the sun sets.
I have just completed building my new house in this part of the national park and this area where the sign is going to be is also inside the conservation area and i imagine the sign has got planning permission as i had too.
The road Chapel Brae dead ends at my house and continues on a mar estate private road, the road also turns into a large carpark and the sign would be better place adjacent to the entrance! not just stuck across from my house, so every time i open my door is see this sign and not the amazing views of the sun set.
Great to see braemar is moving forward and implementing 20mph, but please review the position of this sign.
Kind regards Mr Coleman 45 Chapel Brae Braemar AB35 5YT 07585491210

We’ve completed our inspection and were unable to log a defect requiring action by the Roads Service.
In many cases, this means the issue may relate to land or infrastructure that is not maintained by our service. This could include areas looked after by another part of the Council — such as housing, landscape, or waste services — or by a third party, such as a utility provider, housing association, developer, or private landowner.
If the situation changes, or if you’re able to provide additional information, you’re welcome to get back in touch. However, if the issue continues to fall outside the Roads Service’s responsibility, it will remain with the appropriate service or owner to address.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention
