Multiple pot holes on this section of roads.

I live in Newton Place and for years and years have been complaining about the multiple pot holes that I have to avoid from my driveway in Newton Place before I even get onto Skateraw Road.

Due to the number of them now it is getting even harder as they are spread over the road so trying to get onto Skateraw road without busting your tyre is a challenge.

The challenge is even worse now due to a drain issue which is eroding extensively the left fork that leads from Skateraw Road into Newton Place. Due to the extreme erosion it is spreading across the whole section of road.

It would not take much to fix this section of road that leads from Newton Place onto Skateraw Road so can't understand why it goes unrepaired for years and years.

  • We have an update - we’ve completed our assessment of the defect logged with us and evaluated the risk it poses.

    This risk level determines our target response time which are then are used to prioritise and programme work.

    At this stage, other defects posing a higher risk are taking priority and we are not planning to carry out any repair work here at this time. The defect location has been recorded and will be assessed again during the next planned inspection for any further deterioration.

    We’re currently developing our approach to displaying priorities and target completion times to keep residents better informed. In the meantime, we’ll continue to assess the level of risk and allocate resources based on urgency, location, and the availability of repair teams.

    This defect has been added to our works programme and will be scheduled accordingly.
