General weeds on pavements

Reported via mobile in the Overhanging Trees & Vegetation category anonymously at 19:45, Thu 31 July 2025

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 919064.

The majority of Old Rayne suffers from poor pavements and most of them have a large quantity of weeds grown on them. Generally making the place look unkept. There was an attempt last month with a road sweeper to do the ones on the road kerbs but this just removed the worst of the vegetation from the surface and they are growing back now. The village also suffers from a large quantity of overgrown trees and shrubs onto the paths around the village, I thought the homeowners would get warnings about this.

  • We’ve completed our inspection and were unable to log a defect requiring action by the Roads Service.

In many cases, this means the issue may relate to land or infrastructure that is not maintained by our service. This could include areas looked after by another part of the Council — such as housing, landscape, or waste services — or by a third party, such as a utility provider, housing association, developer, or private landowner.

If the situation changes, or if you’re able to provide additional information, you’re welcome to get back in touch. However, if the issue continues to fall outside the Roads Service’s responsibility, it will remain with the appropriate service or owner to address.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention
