A few potholes on this lane.

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 16:14, Thursday 1 October 2026

Sent to Aberdeenshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 985103.

I am writing in regards to Albert Street Lane Fraserburgh AB43 9JG and the many dangerous potholes at both ends of the road. I have previously submitted these through the appropriate channels but have received feedback that these are acceptable and not getting fixed at present.

One is situated at the junction onto Watermill Road but in the middle of the lane, meaning you have to block the lane when stopping for traffic to avoid hitting your tyre.

The others are towards the other end towards Gallowhill Road. They are situated to one side of the lane and one is particularly deep and will do damage to a car. As you can see by the photos that cars park right up this lane through the week making them completely unavoidable. There is only 2 in this photo today but most days there is atleast 4 right up to the junction.

  • We’re currently developing our approach to displaying priorities and target completion times to keep residents better informed. In the meantime, we’ll continue to assess the level of risk and allocate resources based on urgency, location, and the availability of repair teams.

This defect has been added to our works programme and will be scheduled accordingly.

    • To be Completed by: 02/10/2027
    • Road category: 4B
    • Road speed limit: 30
    • No of Potholes Recorded: 2
    • Maximum Pothole Depth: 100mm or over
    • Maximum Pothole Width: 400mm or over

The date shown above represents the latest target for completion based on our current programme of works. This may be brought forward where resources, operational priorities, or coordination with other activities allow. Defects assessed as posing a higher risk are prioritised for earlier repair whenever possible.

Thank you for your patience while we carry out this work.
